cow urine and dung can stimulate growth

WORRIED ABOUT the slowdown? Well, the RSS knows the way out. Its mantra is simple: cow urine and dung can stimulate growth. How? They can be used to produce consumer goods, and selling them as raw materials can make villages richer, boosting the purchasing power of villagers.

On Thursday Om Prakash, , a functionary of the Sangh Gau Raksha programme, made a presentation before swayamsevaks on how cow urine can reverse the slowdown. He said many consumer goods — such as mosquito repellents, phenyl, lotions and shampoos — could be made using cow urine.

About cow dung, the swayamsevaks were told that apart from manure, it can be used for making tiles, toothpowder, furniture, paper, sculpture and distemper.

Vagish Issar, a media func tionary of the RSS, told HT: “People may assume that the Sangh is regressive. But 700 million Indians live in villages and growth can be sustained only by reaching out to them.” The Sangh economics is succinct: if cow urine and dung get their legitimate status as raw materials for industry they can , be sold at good prices. And we can bid goodbye to the slowdown.
